Brackenbury Village

This Victorian townhouse in Brackenbury Village was originally mid-terrace. However due to bomb damage in WW2 the remainder of the terrace was demolished following bomb damage making the house an end of terrace and the original party wall an external wall.

Works included replacement of existing of existing rear lower ground floor extension, extension to rear ground and first floor up to existing closet wing with roof terrace at second floor level, additional second storey to the existing closet wing, alterations to fenestration and re-landscaping of front garden and lightwell to provide bicycle storage.

The relocation of the staircase between the lower ground and ground floor and the new 5m tall frameless window improve the connection between the two living room levels and encourage them to be used as one large open plan living space.
